Minoosh Zomorodinia, Harmony of the Earth 《地球的和諧》
For Edge on the Square's Contemporary Art Festival High Five: Exploring the Elemental Forces of Chinatown, artist Minoosh Zomorodinia will be leading a collective walking ritual titled Harmony of the Earth. The ritual features a performance procession inviting guests to join in the celebration of the elements, primarily centering on the earth as a metaphor for land. This event aims to unify diverse cultural backgrounds, fostering a sense of connection and solidarity among participants by connecting them to the common importance of land as a foundation for life and community.
About Minoosh
Minoosh Zomorodinia is an Iranian-born interdisciplinary artist, educator, and curator based in the Bay Area. She explores the intricate relationship between humans, nature, memory, and technology through her work. Minoosh co-chairs the Women Eco Artists Dialog and has received numerous awards and residencies, including YBCA 100 Honoree award, Recology (AIR) Program, Lucas Artists Fellowship, and residency at Headlands Center for the Arts. Her exhibitions span from Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to the Asian Art Museum. Her work has been featured in SF Chronicle, Hyperallergic, and KQED. Minoosh holds an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BA and MA from Azad University in Tehran, Iran.
